L’exposition All Over / A Lover part d’un titre emprunté à Hillel Schwartz, lui même emprunté à Francis Bacon, le philosophe pas le peintre, lui même imaginé de la bouche de Echo, la nymphe condamnée par Héra à répéter inlassablement les derniers mots entendus. Le message, au travers de la voix de Echo, gagne en potentiel poétique ce qu’il perd en efficacité oratoire. Si le son vient de partout, celui qui sait n’est plus en haut…

The exhibition All Over / A Lover begins with a title from Hillel Schwartz, quoted from Francis Bacon, the philosopher not the painter, imagining it being verbalized by Echo, the nymph that was condemned by Hera to repeat tirelessly the last words she heard. The message, through Echo’s voice, gains in poetical potential what it loses in rhetorical efficacy.
